This little clip ends with probably the longest point of the match, broadcast on Swedish radio. Sorry I don't have the end of that point.

never forget, Laver past his prime and Borg in his prime.
I don't know what was the point of so many aces at the end the pay check went to Okker having been the winner Arthur didn't get any money it all went to the looser That why Okker didn't bother to try to return them
Noone but no one can persuade me that there is somebody who played or plays one hand backhand better than Ivan Lendl.......👏👏👏👏👏🥁
These guys are great. Playing with wooden rackets and moving the ball like they do. Awesome talents and players.
Never forget,Connors was at his peak and Laver was the aging player at the end of his career.
Connors era un soberbio y ese día le toco beber fernet sin coca.
To everyone out 'there'; Does anyone have any matches from the 1975 US Open Mens Doubles, where Borg teamed up with Rod Laver? Cheers.
It was such a game of skill and Grace..Now look at the sport, where grown men have to use two hands like little girls.
Roche best backhand volley ever Rosewall best slice backhand ever
That time Rod Laver smacked Borg on the bum with his tennis racket.
Old tennis is so elegant. They had beautiful strokes. The game now lacks this beauty.
1:43 SABR?
Muncea f greu. Ne-a Ilie. Pe teren. Mai scapa cité una. Munca grea fraților.
Haa. Ilie. Eram puști. 10 ani. Urmăream jocul. Fii sănătos ne-a ilie.
Immense athleticism but elegance too. We rarely see this today, unfortunately.
I've never seen anything like those backhand passing shots by Laver! Breathtaking
Roche with a modern day racquet would have been near unbeatable.
Ken was arguably the best player never to win Wimbledon.
Pancho also didnt win Wimbledon. Kenny did make 2 finals before the age of 22 and 2 more after the age of 33. He missed 11 of his prime years and Pancho missed 18 or 19 years. They each would have won multiple Wimbys.
Why is it cut short.

Nastase was the first bad boy in tennis, Connors and Mac drew inspiration from Nasty
I've never seen footage of Borg playing doubles before! Thanx. 👍
the last one is a lob with spin, Vilas did it fabulous!
Laver superior to Connors hands down
What a serve at 5'7" and with a wooden racket to boot!
Un om sportiv minunat❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hard to believe an old short man with ancient small racquet could play tremendous serve and volley
Why their game seems so slow compared to the tennis nowadays?
If next gen players were champions they would have done to the older Big Three what Connors (and Borg) did to Laver. Routinely, young champions beat old champions. But if you're just a young journeyman, you get schooled.
It was a completely different sport.
I never knew how good Laver was until I saw this video. This is Laver at the end of his career and Conners at his beginning. Laver had such amazing court presence and shot making ability. He had all the shots and a great touch. Not one unforced error in this short clip. I truly believe a player with the skills of Laver today would dominate tennis just like Laver did in the 1960s.
wow...Ashe/Laver vs Borg/Nastase
Nastase was a lovable piece of shit, wasn't he?
It is our misfortune that tennis did not stay with the wood racquet. Baseball was wiser. It stayed with the wooden bat.
I sat next to Rod Laver at Wimbledon two year ago. It was a real honour. We were watching Sinner v Djokovic. I asked him what he thought they'd be like if they were playing with wooden racquets. He said he'd give them a run for their money in his prime but their fitness was on another level. Connors was arguably the first of the truly fit modern era players. At 37 Laver was 14 years older than Connors when this game was played. Often matches of this era seem slow when we watch them on the screen. Not this one. These two were two of the greats. I don't think they'd have stood a chance against Novak or Roger. But we will never know.
Rosewall at his peak ,could slice and dice opponents with a stunning array of effortless shot making. No one painted the line like him. Only Federer is his equal in that department .
Serve and volley. Real tennis. Exciting tennis. Who is responsible for destroying this ?
So Good Connors ❤😮😊
Hitting consistently with that much topspin on those conventional wood rackets is no small feat. Incredible hand-eye coordination.
Laver with the Dunlop Maxply. That and the Wilson Jack Kramer were probably the most popular rackets of that time. Jimmy Connors was using the Kramer at the beginning of his pro career. Then he switched to about the first metal racket - The Wilson T2000. The Maxply, with gut stringing, actually gave you a lot of power and control. But is was fragile. The frame would crack at the points where the white paint met the plain wood, below the middle point of the racket face, after a few months of regular, normal use.
It’s 86 shots, if you’re counting
maybe the best movie with Borg I have ever seen ! Great !
Mcenroes a punk he knew that point was in should gave it to borg hit rite on line
Please refer to this video any young players who stupidly state that nobody hit it hard "back then". Players under forty commonly assume classic era players played slow methodical game with no power. Quite the contrary. Also, court surfaces then were often incredibly fast compared to the homogenized, all surfaces must bounce the same monotony of the modern game. Connors and Laver were hitting the cover off the ball and straight line flat bullets skidding off a fast surface take away much more time from the opponent than loopy high bouncing topspin shots. These two were incredible players who would do fine in today's era.
In a match two that are the evolution of world tennis to date together with Federer!! Rod Laver a natural giant made of high precise fundamentals in a wrist game!! We know everything about Borg and he has it together brought interest in tennis into a sport with a huge following!! Three Giants Who Are The Game Of Tennis
Go Evonne!
That backhand crosscourt passing shot from Laver! 4:32 😍
